Drabble: noun

1. A short writing exercise
2. A short piece of writing, usually no more than 1000 words (although length is debatable) and often not bearing any direction or plot outside a single scene. Drabbles are more often used to make a point about the characters or events involved, or to provide an introspection or specific point of view.
